Mathilda: the sacrifice
Cairo, September 2001. Prince of Cairo Mukhtar Bey in conversation with the elder and anathema Kementiri. Kementiri is infinatelly more powerfull than the prince, and she demands his cooperation. In the conversation she casually kills his attendant ghoul, like it was nothing.
Mukhtar Bey has arranged for a piece of an old Egyptian scroll Kementiri needs for a ritual called "The spell of life". The scroll didn't work, so Kementiri helds Mukhtar Bey responsible. The spirit that should be connected to the scroll, isn't there. Mukhtar Bey guesses that it is somehow connected to the Toreador Lucius, the one that stole the scroll in the first place. So maybe the ritual that Kementiri proposescan be done with Lucius as the recipient? This way Kementiri get her beloved spirit and Mukhtar Bey survives this meeting.
Location unknown, 2004. Helena van Zolden, Franceska Rosmberg and SIRE are discussing how to arrange for a ritual in Brasov. Helena explains the ritual to Franceska, and also explains that at least one Tremere should be in the circle, along with all the inhabitants of Brasov (that surely includes Lucius). That there is demand for a sollution for an existing problem coming from Brasov, comes in handy: they just mask this ritual as the sollution. However, to complete this ritual the way it should be done, one Tremere shall have to be sacrificed, so it is up to SIRE to find a lucky candidate.
For Franceska this could be the way to get a promotion, even if she knows that it could get her former companions into trouble. A pity for the newly embraced Tremere though, she will not survive this in any way.
