These are all stories that reveal a secret about the events in Holland by Night. I made the stories because I wasn't available one night, but the players wanted to be there anyway. So the role of storyteller was taken up by a different person for each part. The story would reveal a secret about a player, mostly about his embrace. The time and place of each part was different, but they all took place in the game before the ritual, or at least before the effects of the ritual (see: the ritual).
Harold: the dutyful embrace
1997, Amsterdam. Harold was an ambitious and intelligent man that worked as an intern for the Amsterdam police. His father, Samuel, had been embraced into clan Assamite a few years before. Maybe it was because of his father that Harold was looking for clues about strange events happening in Amsterdam. One day he and his study mate Claire Heythager found what they were looking for: evidence for the existence of kindred. It was a badly covered up masquerade accident. They were exstatic about the results of their investigation, but were also roughly wakened up and confronted with the consequences.
Prince Fritzenklein had considerable influence with the police, so it reached his ear. He summoned Samuel, but also the elder Isabella de Granada. Since Samuel was Assamite, it was only polite to invite the renowned Assamite elder. Also, she is the sire of Samuel, so she is accountable for his actions. Isabella took Lucita d'Aragon along as a sort of inforcer.
In this meeting, Samuel was given a choice: he had to embrace his son, or let him be brainwiped by Lucita. If he chose the embrace, Isabella would be the mentor to keep an eye on things. Claire would be disposed of. Samuel chose the embrace, but had to confront his own son with his decision.
