Dear “Cainite.FM” listeners,
Last week in “How Ghenna Came About” we all heard how the little girl Vascilia leaded the group of five towards her grandmother “Baba Yaga” and we ended in the middle of the big fight between the KGB-agent Voskov and “The Kindred Five.” All the members trying to fight the best way they could. Godja and John using brutal force, Anowan preparing some mystical art, Val playing transformers and Jack hiding and watching. Yes, listeners, we are back at the scene!
Voskov lifts John but there is Godja, she dives at Voskov’s leg and “oh boy” she just tears it off like it’s a piece of paper. Anowan follows Godja. What did she do? It just looks like she rolled from one side to the other, but you never know! She may have performed some black magic in between. Aaah but listeners, is it John? John who is going to be the hero of the day? He topples Voskov over….and one, two, three….Yes HE IS OUT!! And yes! Acting like the true vampires they are: Godja and Val tear of the brutes head! Well, that was some hell of a battle, dear listeners!
In the meantime, did anybody see Jack? Or Vascilia for that matter? Did they already leave? There are only two routes: the way back and.. the corridor formerly guarded by Voskov. Jack. Jack would have chosen the way back but Vascilia? She would have taken the other route. Hmm yes, John, Godja and Val realize the exact same thing and although Val seems busy sucking out Voskov’s head, they all head in the same direction. We, dear listeners, are now going deeper into the cave! Well, not all of us….Anowan of course is still studying and picking at the old vampires body, a matter of priority I guess.
The five, however, never venture very far from each other. And eventually we all meet them again in a strange tunnel lined with skulls. Take a look at that: Val is actually sweating blood! I guess his eyes must have been bigger than his stomach when he emptied Voskov’s brains! Aah but let’s not dwell on Val’s appetite and take a look at the scene. Because this is one hell of a strange corridor: the skulls lining the tunnel are burning red-hot. Man! It is almost getting to hot for comfort here! Ah, but there is the end of the tunnel.
We seem to head for something green. Can this be? Do I see a true lustrous garden before me in the middle of this mountain? The five are as stunned as I am! John breaks off a branch to examine it and Anowan even has the nerve to eat a bit of leave. Juck!! But as always we eventually turn to Godja: our expert on nature and wild-life. And she again doesn’t disappoint us. Heeeereee she goes again: brutal Godja on her knees talking to a sweet little white bunny! The sight of listeners, the sight.
Maybe we should remember this: rabbits do give good advice. Because here we are, in the middle of the forest, before a little fenced of hut, standing on a bird’s leg. Yes, your hearing is quite okay: I said “a hut standing on a bird’s leg”. But there is no time to wonder for here comes an old lady. Looking all nice and sweet. She must be the famous Baba Yaga, grandmother of Russia and a very elderly Nosferatu!!
Baba Yaga starts to speak, gently. But then… she spots Vascilia who was hiding behind the others. Dear listeners, horror, horror is spreading upon her gentle face: “You” she says. And Vascilia answers “Yes, Granny” and smiles a cold humourless smile. Baba Yaga, she turns to the five and yells “Fools! How could you bring her here. You have no idea what you have done.” And the five are struck with incomprehension and disbelieve. What the hell?
Then, listeners of Cainite FM, things seem to speed up. Vascilia is shrinking AND transforming fast until..she is one hell of a big black spider. At the speed of lightening she crawls upon Baba Yaga and seems to wholly overtake her before anyone… can do more then even blink. And then they both turn into a black pillar out of which a fluid is oozing that seems to…ugh..it resembles some sort of pitch-black thick crawling oil.
The earth shakes and everybody but Val and Godja fall to the ground. What are those two doing? They both try to light the pillar in which Baba Yaga and Vascilia are encapsulated!! What on earth do they want to accomplish with that? But whatever it was..it is to no avail: the fire just seems to fly off. Quiet, listen! We can barely hear it but someone is speaking. It is the voice of Baba Yaga. “Goriniksj” she utters. It seems like a codeword for reason for now Vascilia emerges out of the pillar, burning from head till toe. She is reacting cool dear audience. For where you and I would panic she just rolls over in the grass to extinguish the fire, picks herself up and says to her stunned public: “Thank you.” Nobody is reacting…..she just walks out of sight! And Baba Yaga? The grandmother of Russia? She is degenerated to nothing more than a little pile of black stuff.
What on earth have the five done? They have helped a monstrous creature, resembling a sweet little girl, on it’s mission to destroy Baba Yaga! And the word is spreading! Only moments later after this heartbreaking event Elizabeth Malroy, who we know as the one who has send Jack into all of this, speaks of the rumour that a group of cainites has something to do with the final death of Baba Yaga. No, dear listeners, the future of the Cainite Five doesn’t look that bright!!!!
Next week we will continue with the story of the Kindred Five who always happen to be near …or in the middle of events leading our kind to the very end of our existence! In the following episode John is going to experience a very, very hard time.
First the Five are the target of a bombing in a café. Yes, they never seem to learn that being hunt by Assamites and having a good time in pubs is a dangerous combination. Anyhow, John barely escapes death by incineration! And later on John will meet a vampire who knives him. This vampire will be killed by the rest of the Five but…is it going to save John? Is Anowan’s sinister attempt to help him going to work? This, will probably learn next week, dear listeners.
Furthermore for those weak of heart, there are also some good things coming for our company of cainites. In the very same attack in the pub Anowan is saved by a stranger called Nazir. Will this man come to the rescue of all five? He does have vital information on those Assimites still trying to end their lives (three left and one of them actually being a Ravnos, according to Elizabeth Malroy). Nazir knows the Assimite Bertrand who was part of the French intelligence. This Bertrand killed Nazir’s sire. And if that was not enough to hate him, Bertrand’s buddy a Malkavian, killed Nazir’s brother in an outrageous competition. A competition between Bertrand and this Malkav. They play the game: who has the highest body count! And the five are in the middle of it!
