Part as the price of their rescue in York, part as a ruse to get them out of the way, the Coterie of York gets sent to the Isle of Lindisfarne on the east coast of Northumbria. Some kind of inner family Giovanni thing is being held there, one that not even the Dunsirn know about.

“Mi Anowan, resuming mi journal on 27 of March. We’re just back from Lindisfarne where we’ve met dame Marianna. This was one of the two tasks we assigned ourselves today, visiting the Conspiracy of Isaac is second on our program; we’re on our way to them right now. But let me first put the visit to dame Marianna on tape.
We woke up in our cabin at the camp of the Founders. Everything still feels safe so Hardestad must have a tight control over matters here. This is also evident in the fact that every cabin has it’s own guard. Ours, Havell, only left his post to arrange an appointment with Synovea, when we asked him too. She seems an abundant source of information, which is why we started our day by asking her for advice. The picture drawn for us was that The Founders/The Inner Circle is here because of the approaching vortex, which is going to have an enormous influence. What do you expect? If Japeth or Cappadocious is really going to elevate his self to being God, this world will definitely change forever. Maybe it is for the better, as my clan-mates believe, maybe for the worse as most onlookers fear. Most important piece of information, however, is that dame Marianna is a major pawn in this whole affair. To find her we had to visit the island, so we did.
Well that sounds a bit to easy. No boat, no road and no way…we were going to swim. Thank God for the muscles on John that mi lacks because mi specializes in brains. He walked down the road under the water and got us a boat…and troubles. We only found out about that last part when we arrived at Lindisfarne. He had knocked out and bounded the friar that had been standing guard. So yes, thanks mi Gado for his muscles but it is a pity God did not leave room for a brain! Jack tried to intervene by freeing this servant of God but didn’t succeed since he also is more of the “mental” than the psychical kind. Well, let’s just say that Japeth was not amused when we arrived with a friar sagged over John’s shoulder. Luckily Japeth understands the need for information and showed John and me to dame Marianna. She sat under a tree, quiet, sad and in thoughts. Japeth warned us: when she came back out of Egypt she had sworn a vow of silence. Mi tried to break it, even though it felt like desecrating. She, however, showed an impressive perseverance in keeping her vow. That she did give information by making us reading the signs that she wore makes her the true Cappadocian she is, although she is Giovanni in lineage. Her signs told us she was afraid (by wearing an amulet that wards of evil) and in mourning (because of her black veil). Furthermore she gave us the impression that it was not for her own sake she was grieving.
Puzzled John and mi arrived in the middle of a row: Fitz was babbling about wraiths that he supposedly had seen. He claimed that he summoned a ghost and then was attacked by a wraith with horns that shouted: `Can you follow orders`. *Sigh* Mi Gado, mi Gado!”

“Here Anowan, still 27th of March. Man! These cainites of the conspiracy are ‘ogri man’ and Claudius is the biggest one of them all. They know about the vortex, better still they partly created it if mi is not mistaken. That smooth-talking son of a ……….., let’s not waste tape. Claudius wants to kill Japeth, that much is clear, and then he wants to control the wraith of Japeth: capture it and use it as a weapon. It is good mi decided to warn Japeth. Claudius is the Giovanni he is and this means no good can come from him. Ah well, we got some blood of all of the members. That was good! Good…Wait, we got a visitor ……Synovea.
(….)
Hmm! First she told us that you can trap a soul in a vessel and only blood of a Giovanni can free the soul from this vessel. And then she handed us two rubber boots and two veils to be used tomorrow. Who told us there was going to be a storm? And only in the eye of the storm we were save, if we had boots. Veils. Yes, veils were the border between death and life. Tomorrow, tamara….it’s going to be a special day if the signs don’t deceive me.”

(Chanting in the background. Whispering) “Mi Anowan, 28 March, Lindisfarne. We came here with the Founders, on boats. We are in a room, the room with the three chairs. Japeth sits on the right chair, just like the other time we met him here. On the left sit Augustus. I have never seen him from this close. There is talking all around me from many, many guests. The friars sing…Quiet, there comes Claudius, he holds a white dove…he kneels before Japeth…Japeth speaks (different voice) My Sire forgives everything, go and do not sin again. He, Claudius… the traitor… holds out the dove to him (different voice) No kiss for your brother, Japeth?..No, no wait...Japeth…don’t offer him, Claudius..oh, mi Gado, mi Gado…Murder!”

“Mi Anowan, it’s over, all over. I can’t talk now”

“Mi Anowan, 28th of March, mi still on Lindisfarne. I got out of the tumult to talk. Where shall I start? Claudius attacked Japeth who did not fight back at all! Japeth choose his fate. Nobody could change that, not even the founders who come rushing in to fight off the members of the conspiracy in order to save him. We as a group reacted in two ways. Fitzgerald and John head to Marianna, the only Giovanni they knew that might be willing to donate blood for the common good. Jack and mi headed toward the fighting. Mi did reach Claudius, mi did…but it was no good. John got Marianna to understand the need for her blood; she cuts herself and hands the knife to John. He then joins Jack in the struggle to reach the centre of the fight. It was in this very centre that Cappadocious appeared… out of nowhere, just like the time we saw him, vague, floating. Did we all forget Augustus? Well I remembered him when he bellowed “Those who drink from my blood shall I bring back from death.” Lightning seemed to strike the building at these words. Cappadocious was furious and that seemed to make him more solid than he was before. A storm started. He…he was the centre of the storm, it blew from him, he was…. like a God. A God, who could not save the life of his son, who could not even safe himself. Augustus said to Cappadocious: “I want your blood Cappadocious, I do not want a heaven on earth.” and embraced him. Again and mi swear mi eyes did not deceive me, there was no protest!!! Cappadocious put his arms around Augustus not in defence but cradle him. But who knows maybe mi was deceived, but I cannot find anyone to confirm my words: John and I where the only persons still standing. The others where all blown away by the raging storm. Afterwards we found out that we were not infected by the storm due to the rubber boots we got from Synovea. Magical boots that kept us standing in the middle of a tempest that, according to both Fitzgerald AND John, consisted of wraiths; thousands and thousands of them. They could see them and the paths through them because of their, just as magical, veils.
We did not bother then about these wonders. We where just anxiously looking for the vessel that Synovea talked about. We decide the dove could only be intended to serve this purpose and John smeared the blood of dame Marianna on the creature. Mi thank Gado, we did…thank you. Because by then Cappadocious seemed to radiate strong, eye blinding light, he became even more visible before he slowly began disappearing. He only left a spark that flew towards Claudius. Augustus, just before he disappears himself, shouted: “ The soul flies away, get the dove” The spark then moves from Claudius to the dove, lingers and then flies up into the sky. The storm ends, suddenly there is silence. Claudius grasped the dove but it was as clear to him as it was to me that the dove did not contain the soul of Cappadocious. With empty hands he shouted: “Come back!!!” ….But, he won’t, ever”
