The newly appointed Prince of Brasov or Kronstadt has to build the foundations for his powerbase in the city. His Coterie helps him, either out of friendship or out of lust for their own power.

Honored Patron,
I hope this finds you well. Due to recent developments I now submit an intermediate progress report, to insure that even if things go wrong here, certain information will not be lost.
I continue to investigate the case of the Barsov blood disease. I haven’t been able to make any major new progress, but I hope I can crack it soon now, as the situation becomes dire.
In the immediate past, we have just returned from Tihuta Pass, where we had to sort out the mess left behind by the incompetent warlord, Theodor Mihaita. We found some squatting thugs belonging to an organisation called the Red Grenadiers. They were there for some sort of hazing ritual under the direction of a certain Otto Respiggi, a citizen from one of the nearby villages.
Since the permanent retirement of Theodor was already imminent, we took steps towards establishing this group as a new steward/guard force in the tower. Mr. Karinthe has undertaken to ghoul Mr. Respiggi towards that end.
These Red Grenadiers were apparently founded somewhere in 1871 as an army unit tasked with restoring old local traditions or something like that. Now, Mr. Respiggi will collect tolls, keeping 10% as a reward for collection and guarding the tower.
After this, we were left stranded by Thibalt, who took off with his own plane without us. The reason for this would soon become apparent, as we returned to Brasov.
Back in Brasov, Mr. Samplonius informed us that he had declared Blood Hunt against Mr. Vykos, and he then descended to the cellar to make work of the coffin/strongbox containing Mr. Vykos. We were a bit nervous about the result, believing that the Tzimisce might overwhelm Mr. Samplonius in some way. Unfortunately, it was even more insidious than that. After he returned, I scanned his aura and probed his thoughts, and determined that something had gone wrong, but that he had clearly not taken Mr. Vykos into him in any way. Lucius scouted the cellar and found the corpse of Felix Moga instead.
Things started to unravel; Mr. Samplonius demanded an explanation from Mr. LaSalle, who refused at first. A standoff ensued with Mr. LaSalle using his command of darkness to obstruct us. He did tell us then that as soon as he touched the box when he was hauling it into the cellar, he was dominated towards getting Mr. Vykos safely away.
To get to this point, we had to make a deal with Mr. LaSalle; he agreed with Mr. Samplonius that no disciplines were to be used, and that if they were used, Mr. Samplonius’ existence would be forfeit.
As regards the other operations currently in progress:
• The operation to ensure that the clan’s prestige is not adversely affected further by my progeny has been succesfuly concluded.
• Theodor Mihaita has been terminated.
• The fund-raiser to get money for further research into the Brasov blood disease has been succesful, bringing in 15 million euros.
• I intend to take steps to complete the assessment of the operatives. I am currently sharpening my telepathic skills in order to obtain a certain judgement. However, I still believe that I am ill-chosen for this task, because I do not have any training in this area of investigation. I am just a forensic after all.
This concludes the summary of recent developments. I will continue my efforts to resolve al outstanding situations.
Yours sincerely,
Harold Frederick Mallory
