We had agreed to get together in Elysium. When I arrived our prince took me to the apart since we had to discus something. After this we joined the others to create a game plan on how to deal with the spreading disease. Harold told us that he had found a correlation between religious icons and the outbreak. Apparently if you are exposed to items of faith which are later taken away the diluting of the blood will start, in humans their blood starts to clot. He was still testing to see if he could find out more also he had an expert flying in to assist with the research.
We decided that I would enter the church after the funeral of my wife. That way we will have the counter sample for Franceska to see if the illness is caused by a religious item, the hand of some saint, or by an unknown bug. To prepare Lucius and I went to the blood-bank to have a stash when two of us would succumb to the ailment. We started by loading the bags into a van that Lucius quickly pilfered from some parking lot. When we were carrying this load a security guard arrived. Lucius quickly turned on the charm and asked the guard to assist us in removing this precious cargo. When we had almost everything in the van another two security agents showed up after Lucius turned on the charm again and I told the other one to cut up the remaining blood-bags. We left leaving a god awful mess for the police.
The next day we arrived at Elysium to tell the prince about what we had done, but he had already heard and wasn’t to pleased about the commotion we had caused. He was planning on further punishing us, until he heard how much blood we had obtained. With moderate use this would last us three years. We also heard that our prince had done a very brave thing he had entered the black church and contracted the disease.
We left for Rotterdam right after that we stored Maud and Alexander in their room. Harold told us about another fact he had discovered. The church in which the relic that is supposed to cause the disease rests, is apparently build as a magnifying glass focussing the energy of the relic to spread through the land in the same way as the web we had laid down to hold Kupala. The relic was exactly in the focal point of this mystical lens. If the relic were placed differently within the church the effect would probably be over. Also roughly ten percent of the global population is has the deviation that when triggered causes the affliction. Also after speaking to Zelios we were able to rule out that the church and the relic are part of the aforementioned Zelios’ web. When we were roughly fifty kilometres from Brasov both Alexander and Maud were quickly getting better. Within a few more kilometres they were completely cured. We arrived in Rotterdam shortly after. I brought them to the Hilton which was reserved for guests of Natalja’s funeral. I left to make further arrangements. The next evening we met each other at the Russian Orthodox Church. The service was beautiful, her parents the usual annoyance. After the service I reintroduced Alexander to his brother and left for the cremation.
