The next night we had decided that after Felix’s betrayal he needed to be taught a lesson. The Prince, Lucius and I left for the club. Harold hadn’t finished his other business yet and so could not join us. As for Maud she arrived just as we were about to leave she was sweating blood and was overwhelmed by hunger. We arranged for Stefan the taxi-driver to come and after he had been properly instructed he was led to Maud. She quickly fed of him, after which we escorted her for her safety to my hotel. A decision I learned to regret. After this we left for the club of Felix.
Once there we demanded to see Felix and the prisoners. He came to see us with a bit of muscle as added support. We started to pressure him and forced his guards into submission after we saw what he had done to the prisoners. Things quickly went downhill from there, primarily because the men were so unusually strong-willed for mortals that I’m beginning to suspect even more insidious plots. Felix decided that he would have a bit of a tiff with us a decision he will come to rue for the rest of his life. The violence in the room started to spill over and the other guests were coming to see what was going on. Lucius solved this by doing the thing he truly excels at. He captured every-ones attention and build a party that these oppressed paupers had never seen in there entire lives. If he does not surpass himself next week it will become the stuff of legends. He should do more to cultivate this trait since he craves the attention or am I to under his enchantment, never mind. In the meantime Alexander and I quickly contained the unrest and decided to have a little talk with Felix and alter the memories from Felix’s drunks, especially when Harold showed up. I filled them up with alcohol and changed their memory to make them remember the prisoners escaping and attacking and seriously injuring Felix. They of course were fired. As for Felix who appeared less sturdy than he had hoped, I had punched him twice and he was bleeding to death, was being patched up by Harold who knows about these things. Alexander was very angry about this; I didn’t pull the knife, and said this in front of everyone there.
In the meantime a true tragedy had occurred Maud did not take her illness as seriously and decided that she could go for a stroll. When Natalja tried to keep her in she started to cause a racket and bit her. Normally this is a forgivable offence, but now with her disease this can be seen as a murder attempt. Vampires do not get sick and if they do their conditions are invariably lethal to normal mortals. She left after this and I got a call.
