While the war in Amsterdam is still raging, and their hometown is not yet safe enough, the coterie of Lucius gets sent to far-away Hungaria to build an outpost for the Camarilla. They go without the graces of Tremere Franceska. She has her duties to attend to in the chantry in Amsterdam.

The work progresses slowly, too slowly in fact, if it goes on like this it’ll take a long time before the tower is finished and before we can get the hell out of here! Alexander may be angry with me for wanting to leave but at least I’m honest which is more than can be said for him! Money is also becoming an issue. Materials are very expensive and the transport is not cheap. We still need 3 million euro! The slow progress and the lack of money aren’t the only problems we face; unfortunately the blood supply isn’t sufficient.
Myca Vykos comes bye for a visit (inspection). Oh my God! That guy is gorgeous! He is so beautiful, almost godlike. Come to I think of it, he actually looks a bit like Seth!
Carmen has told him about the tablets and he is very interested in the copies. We show them to him and he’s very enthusiastic.
He wants to know how things are going with the construction. We ask him for help with the problems with the workforce. Maybe he can persuade the people to work faster… Of course, no problem, he’ll see what he can do. But we do understand he’ll ask us a little favor in the future? Anything you want, I think. He stays a week and steadily the work progresses a tad faster. After he’s gone the work is back on schedule.
But that leaves us with the money-issues and the lack of blood. Especially Alexander has a peculiar taste. It seems he can only appreciate the blood of scholars.
We’re thinking about a solution. Perhaps we can start a holiday resort where people can book a beauty treatment (it’s possible you feel a bit week afterwards…). Hopefully enough students will come for Alexander. A small profit would be nice too. With some difficulty we manage to find some investors and start the project.
Carmen comes back with a message for Aalvar. Madame Guil has asked (summoned) him to become her new Archon. It’s an honor really. He has two weeks to think about it. In other words, pack your stuff, rap up your business and hurry to her service. We’re not happy about it. Lucius and Alexander have known him for a long time. In the past year I’ve come to rely on his strength and a few other useful skills. He’s straightforward and honest and able to control Alexander most of the time. He will be missed!!
A week after Aalvar is gone we have 2 million extra. After some investigation we find that the money somehow came back. It’s like we used the same money twice. That’s a useful trick. Another week later there is 10 million extra!!! What the hell!
One of the ghouls says a guy with a suitcase came by that day, a certain Janos, he said he’s Myca’s assistant. We’re not happy about it. Not that we can’t use the money. But what does he want in return. Of course we consider it to be a lone but still…
Harold wants to apply for subsidies (for the holiday resort and the restoration of the tower) but that’ll take to long unfortunately
All of a sudden the weeks flew by and the tower is finished!! In two weeks five elders will come to check the tower. We decide to throw an opening party and invite some kindred from Holland as well. We’ll need to take safety precautions and take care of the blood supply.
