Zelios and Gianni wanted to talk to us to plan the first stage of construction. We all meet up and inform each other of the progress we have made and plan the employment of people and equipment. After this we decide to investigate the surrounding area. Harold and Maud decide to explore the cave they have found in the hopes that it will prove a useful hideout. Alexander and Aalvar plan to try a second aproach of the wild man in the other cave. When Alexander and I arrive it takes some coaxing to get the man outside, but we succeed. The man is rather sedative and completely incomprehensible. After some attempts we decide that he forms no real threat as long as we leave him alive.
In the meantime in the other cave Maud changes herself into a giant cobra in front of Harold who remains unimpressed. He takes out a length of string from the car and puts it stoically into the serpents mouth, which starts crawling through the tunnels that were too small to explore the last time. Slithering through the crevices she ran out of string, but undeterred by this she continued until she heard something. In the distance there was some growling and snarling. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be the wild man from the other day. Quickly she turned around and returned to Harold. She explained the situation to him and they agreed that the entrance was too narrow and too far off for the wild man to pose a threat. After this they left for the castle to tell the good news of their discovery.
The talk between Alexander Aalvar and the wild man had taken significantly less time and they had returned home. When they arrived there they decided to ask Zelios what he knew about the kindred in the area. Zelios said that he didn’t know anything about them personally, but to the south there was a Cainite called Marelle. Alexander and Aalvar decided to drop by Budacu de Sus to sniff out some information about this Cainite.
When they arrived at the heavily fortified town they were quickly shown to Sergiu Kosmin the leader of the town. They sat down with him talking about the situation and Marelle. It turned out that Marelle had been the source of much grief in the town. It was she who showed up every once in a while with hundreds of men to attack the town. The last attack had cost them nearly half their population. And to make matters even worse Teodor Mihaita had taken all of their weapons for himself.
At this point Harold and Maud arrived. They had heard from Gianni that Alexander and Aalvar had left for Budacu de Sus and decided that they were interested as well. In their enthusiasm they had however forgotten to take one of the ghouls to translate for them. They had some problem at the gate explaining why they’d come but after some marvellous flirting from Maud and some intelligent looks from Harold they managed to make their point clear and were allowed in.
When they entered they were welcomed as well and were quickly brought up to speed. Aalvar told the man that in the future Teodor would come to aid them. They had taken notice of the man’s behaviour and corrected it. Sergiu seemed doubtful.
They left for home and Aalvar sent his owls out to discover more on Marelle.
The next morning Aalvar summoned all the local owls for some reason. After chatting with several of them he told the others that their was an army marching towards Budacu de Sus. They all quickly left and Aalvar went to pick up Teodor and some of his men.
When they arrived it turned out to be more a scene from night of the living dead than an army. The worrying part was the fact that there were somewhere between five and fifteen hundred of these monsters lumbering towards the town. Maud, Harold, Alexander and the ghouls took up positions on several roofs and opened fire upon the encroaching horde. They were very successful and managed to throw of attack after attack and hardly any of the things made it inside the walls. Their strategic position warned them even of the second attack on the other end of the town.
Outside Aalvar had arrived late and started attacking the beasts. First he attacked them with grenades and later in his cat-shape. The battle continued almost all night long, but in the end the horde was destroyed and the time came to help the wounded. There were several injured people, but the town had been saved from extinction. After this we all went to the cave and slept the sleep off daily death.
The following night we returned to the castle to find out that the geological experts had been delayed by a day. We were just discussing what to do when a woman and the girl that had accompanied Teodor when he came around showed up asking for our help. They had heard from our help in Budacu de Sus and decided that we were to be trusted. They seemed to have some problems with Teodor who had scared all the men away and raped and stole in their village whenever he felt like it. They hoped that now that the new Lords were here they could do something about this.
During all this the girl was frowning at her mother and clearly not agreeing to what her mother was saying. When Alexander seeing the distress in the girl’s eyes asked her what was wrong Aalvar accused him of stupidity and loosing a valuable source of information. The girl not understanding any of what Alexander and Aalvar were saying said that she rather liked Teodor he always gave her a ride home. Her mother was flabbergasted how could her daughter like that horrible man. She turned around and marched her daughter right out of there.
In the meantime the accusation made by Aalvar had erupted into a serious row between him and Alexander and Alexander was on the brink of loosing control. Alexander accused Aalvar of having an inhuman ghoul at which Aalvar replied that Alexander had no right to talk of humanity after killing so many times while feeding. At hearing this Alexander snapped and grabbed Aalvar and rolled on the floor. Harold tried to separate the two, but failed. After several seconds of fighting Alexander stormed out of the cellar and into the wilds. The rest left to go hunting not wanting to talk to each other after this.
