While the war in Amsterdam is still raging, and their hometown is not yet safe enough, the coterie of Lucius gets sent to far-away Hungaria to build an outpost for the Camarilla. They go without the graces of Tremere Franceska. She has her duties to attend to in the chantry in Amsterdam.

After Myca Vykos graciously offered to take us to Prince Radu and we had seen to our two dead Ghouls we were under way again. We travelled for a few days and arrived in Bistriz on the 13th of May. The Prince although dressed a little antiquated, was very friendly and offered us his hospitality and the domain that we had to protect. To Alexander’s dissatisfaction everyone gave too much information away about our goals. Maud told both Vykos and Radu of the clay tablets in the tower’s foundation and Aalvar gave away the mission of protecting the pass. In the end it all was a blessing in disguise. The prince seemed to like a party guarding his flank, he offered his assistance to the enterprise through a Cainite master builder called Zelios. Zelios a Nosferatu who’s face didn’t have a round line in it would first give the party a grand tour of the castle which would allows us to ask him several questions. After meeting with the Prince we retired to a communal guest chamber. Most of us left to go hunting and in the end only Alexander, Maud and Aalvar remained in the room to study and talk.
14th of May, 2002
The next evening right before we were picked up for our tour Alexander had upped and left. He had left a note stating that he had had it with our flippant behaviour and had gone back to Alkmaar to be with his Domitor Rasputin. Aalvar decided that he had to miss the tour and go after our renegade Coterie member. The others would follow the tour and make excuses for Aalvar and Alexander. When Aalvar went outside it turned out that the situation was even worse then expected as Alexander had taken their only remaining car.
Just when the tour was finished Aalvar showed up with a rather reluctant and probably coerced Alexander. The Coterie retreated to their chamber where as soon as the door was closed Alexander started of accusing every one of lack of trust and lack of motivation concerning this undertaking. Only yesterday Aalvar and Maud gave away far to much information talking to the Prince. And when they talked last night Maud admitted that she didn’t trust anyone and couldn’t wait to get the hell out of here back to the Netherlands. Our Ventrue all but nearly accused her of purposefully sabotaging the mission. Harold who spoke next said that it was ludicrous for anyone to trust the others this quickly. We had known each other what no more than two months at the most and Maud knew us even less. It would be a slow process to gain each others trust and Alexander’s actions hadn’t made that any easier. Maud was furious by Alexander’s accusations and told him that he himself was no paragon of trustworthiness himself, being bloodbound and all. Lucius calmed the heated discussion down by saying that we all tried, but none of us knew each other as long as Alexander, Aalvar and he did and we would have to know each other better before we could trust each other fully. Until that time we would have to make do. Slightly calmed down Alexander wanted to know about his test. Apparently Aalvar had told him something about a test his Domitor had set him. The others agreed that Aalvar should tell him about the test. So Aalvar told him that while he had been eavesdropping on Rasputin he heard him talking about a win-win situation. Alexander would be sent to the Princedom of a close friend of Rasputin’s sire so that he could strengthen the domain. In doing so he would gain points with his sire, a close friend from his sire and the Camarilla as a whole. Alexander didn’t buy who was his Domitor’s sire then, if he was so close to the Prince. After asking the others for their approval Aalvar told him that it was Myca Vykos. After this they all went silent. It was decided that they’d stay in town one more day to arrange for more vehicles and supplies; also Aalvar and Alexander could then take the tour with Zelios and then leave for the Tihuta pass.

In a few days travelling they reached the pass. The cars were parked in an inlet in the mountain and they started walking up. There was a light emanating from top where the tower was. When they reached the top they found one person talking about god and the blessed ones. He introduced himself as Benoît. Aalvar wanted to know where the other was that was with him. After some haggling Maud managed to convince him to call out to Carmen his companion. Carmen was a very young girl just eighteen, of probably Spanish decent. They told their hosts that they were trying to dig up some clay tablets and could use some help. Within minutes they set to work again. After a little while the ground caved in and there was a hole leading into a dark cellar. When the cellar was lit they saw two rows of six niches in the wall and one niche opposite the door in each of the niches lay, well preserved a clay tablet. On the tablets was a text written in some sort of cuneiform characters. Carmen and Benoît offered to make copies for us as well. They even agreed to translate the tablets for us. Maud and Harold set about discovering the surroundings. Alexander tried to translate the text and Aalvar made their daytime dwelling with the Ghouls. Tomorrow they would start dividing the tasks that were necessary to make the old fort defendable.
