The guests arrived a day earlier at the guesthouse U Hrubiána near House Giovanni. They arrived separately, though some were brought (or taken?) there with the assistance of Giovanni.
The landlord Sigismund welcomed them and talked a bit. After a while the guestroom got crowded with the people that were invited by Giovanni. The wind howled and rain poured down on the forsaken streets outside. Inside, the guests warmed themselves by the hearth. Except for a strange old lady. Being a beggar, she was not allowed near the fire.
There was also a man present by the name of Jan, who was a crippled soldier. He was wounded in Janos Hunyadi's last campaign against the Turks. He had heard that Lord Giovanni was rich, and rich people need protection for their homes. With the help of some of the guests he applied for the job.
Brother Clementis rushed in and ranted on about the supposed devilry of Lord Giovanni. His crazed ramblings unfortunately convinced nobody. When Lotharius, the assistent of Lord Giovanni entered the place and things got out of hand.
Lotharius arrived late in the evening, when nearly all the guests were already there. With a sniff and a quick tongue he checked the merchandise. Were all the guests of the right stock? Ofcourse everybody was rather upset because of his repulsive behaviour. Especially brother Clementis was offended by this, and he claimed Lotharius was the spawn of the devil. Lotharius' soldiers quickly punished the poor monk. His harsh punishment appalled the guests, and some doubted if they should accept the invitation to come and stay at his place for the for a few days, if Lord Giovanni were to treat them the same way as he did the monk.

The next day most guests travelled to House Giovanni by the coaches supplied by their generous host. The journey took all day and they arrived a few minutes before sunset. The coachdriver Roderigo got punished by Lotharius for being too early, and the group had to wait before they were allowed to enter the abode. They were welcomed by Claudius and the members of the Conspiracy.
Claudius gave a short speach and invited everyone to talk to each other, to 'appatise their meal'. The next few hours were filled with the talk and sometimes actions of the members of the Conspiracy and their guests. In most instances, it took some time for the 'Elders' to find out the person with the right mind and blood. When they did find the right person, they tested and harassed him or her until it was time for dinner.
Again Claudius gave a speech, this time about eating and preparing the meal. He invited a guest, Sidr Haddad to prepare the sacrificial lamb by cutting its head off. The still living lamb was brought in and Sidr killed the innocent creature. After that he continued his speech by telling that the 'guests' were in fact the meal for the Elders. He made Marianna, his own vessel, the example by fixing a tap to her neck. He invited Jan, the new soldier in his employ, to prove his worth by using the dagger to pull the blood. Jan refused to do it and Claudius snorted and ordered Lord Bajazet Al-Nasir to kill him. Jan was of no use to Claudius and he pointed out that Jan wished to thank the guests for their help in bringing him to the attention of Claudius. He used the dagger himself and invited the others to do the same.
Before they got a chance to drink from their carefully prepared vessels, one of the soldiers came in and warned everybody about the arrival of the Founders: the Ventrue Hardestadt and his followers. Apparently someone had betrayed them and now they were surrounded. A panicked discussion followed, and it was decided they would leave this place after a quick embrace of their 'guests'. So it happened and everyone escaped. Everyone, except Lord Bajazet Al-Nasir, who decided to fight for his protegé. He had won his great esteem, he explained, by winning in a fair fight.
All of the guests remained. They had the honor of facing the wrath of the Founders.
