After the party, some neonate Kindred of Haarlem got invited to go to Berlin. A nightmare got the attention of Vampires worldwide. In the nightmare, Caine took an important role. Lucian, the Gangrel Elder of Haarlem ordered the neonates to investigate, after he saw elements in his dream that looked like Berlin.
In Berlin, the group lost two of their number, but also met and took along Anton von Oberweesel and Franceska Rozmberg The city is in turmoil, with lots of Vampires from all over the world going to meet the mysterious Vampire who says he is Caine, the mightiest and first Vampire ever.
The group finds out that all is not like it seems, and decides to help the justicar Karl Schreckt with this information. They leave Berlin soon after this.

The following evening the group hears about a bomb-attack on the old city hall of Schöneberg. The explosion was quite powerful, and there were a lot of casualties. The attack has been claimed by an organization that calls itself Fremde 'raus. Later it turns out to be a sub organization of Final Reich. There is also a rumour amongst Kindred that Katarina, a Ventrue has something to do with it. They say that she's not quite fond of Wilhelm.
In the lobby of the hotel the group meets Francesca Rozmberg, a Tremere from Prague who recently moved to Amsterdam. She tells them that she has witnessed the bombing but couldn't find out why the building was attacked. They invite her to come along to the meeting in the Gedächtniskirche. When they're just about to leave, waiting in front of the hotel for a taxi, a few members of the group get shot at from a speeding car. They're not the only victims and panic rises in the streets.
When they finally arrive at the Gedächtniskirche there are already a lot of Kindred present. There's noting to see from the outside but inside it's crowded. The church consists of two parts, a new one and an old one. The meeting is in the old part which has a lot of dark corners and whose walls are covered with graffiti. The Kindred present are divided in groups, most of them sticking with their clan. Fantastic rumours are heard about Caine, but nobody has really seen him. Especially the Malkavians make the most outrageous claims e.g. 'Because of Caine the Soviet Union fell apart, Gorbatsjov refused to become Caine's retainer' and 'Of course I know Caine, he's my Sire!'
They all meet some Kindred on their own. Unfortunately Jean Luc doesn't speak or understands any German, which makes it difficult for him to find out anything about Caine. Christian however meets with a Kindred looking like a neo-nazi but doesn't find out anything interesting either. A lot of conversations amongst Kindred are about the question whether or not Caine will appear, and also about the recent anxiety that is felt in the city. Quite some Kindred also mention the strange organisation Fremde' raus, but nobody knows exactly what it's about.
Then there's the moment Caine will appear. Two big men walk up the scaffold followed by an impressive but not yet entirely visible person. He radiates an enormous power; the crowd quiets down, everyone looks at him with great awe. When he's at the stage, he looks everyone in the eye, one by one. It feels as if he wants to judge everyone's character, as if he can see right trough you. After looking at every single one in silence, he starts to speak. In his speech he encourages the present Kindred to join him and let go of the Camarilla and Sabbat ideas. He will no longer tolerate those leaders pursue their ridiculous jihad against each other. He wants a new leadership under his command. 'It is time that Kine will know who we really are', says Caine. He interrupts his speech to look everyone in the eye again to see whether his words reach the hearts of his audience. Then he encourages them once more to join him and while leaving the stage he says that he who will join him shall turn to his retainers where they will receive a bottle of his blood that they are to consume at once.
The moment Caine leaves the building the room fills with nervous talking and intense discussions. Everyone reacts differently, but they're all touched in one way or another. The princes and the members of clan Ventrue are the first to leave the church. There are some Kindred standing in line to drink 'Caine's blood', but most of them are part of the downside of the Vampire society. A lot of others seem to be in doubt and trying to find out what the general opinion is. 'Was it really Caine or not?'
Jean-Luc and Christian are going to try to spill some of the blood on their clothes so Francesca can take a look at it. They manage to do so and when Francesca takes a quick look at it she finds out that the blood is very old, but not Caine's. The group then decides to leave the church. The moment they come outside, a big group Kindred, dressed in leather, attacks them. They are attacking with wooden stakes and aiming for the heart. In spite of fanatic resistance, one by one is being staked. All but Christian who manages to hold on for quite some time, but alas in the end he's vanquished as well. They are being paraded trough Berlin, stakes and all. This horribly humiliating situation might come to an end by the help of a stranger whom they can see from the corner of their eye. He's rapidly moving towards the group and doesn't look too pleased with the situation.
