Het Oude Slot

E-mail Print PDF

The 'Oude Slot' (old bailey) is built as a fortress for the defence of the Spaarne, where it joins the once very big Haarlemmermeer. That the city of Haarlem needed this protection was made clear in the 'Loonse' war, a conflict in which the city played a major role. In that time however (around 1100), the construction was not built yet. The origins date from about two hundred years later.
The first known inhabitant was Reinier van Heemstede in 1304. Ninety years later the building was thoroughly destroyed by the Haarlemmers in the Hoekse en Kabeljauwse Twisten for taking the wrong side in the struggle.

Heemstede

E-mail Print PDF
The biggest part of Heemstede is controled by Gregorius. While not being a prince per se, he protects the area for the garou. Groenendaal park is the only real dangerous part within his territory. Being near it scares the hell out of most vampires, so they instinctively avoid it. There is rumor going around that something very dreadful once happened there.

Haarlemmerhout

The Malkavian Hildebrand used to keep this place safe for Vampires, though not for the kine. Since his demise in March 2002, things are not quite safe anymore. Rumors speak of something old and evil that is perhaps connected with the thing in Groenendaal, but then again, it could be just that - rumor.
