Holland by Night saw daylight on the first day of the new millennium (although there is a discussion about the beginning of the third millennium, but I wil leave that for now). It started on a different domain, the first format being on only one page. This was my first venture into html. It was soon to be replaced by a version with a lot of animated images, because it looked so cool.
Version 2: somewhere in 2000
Pi sections were added, where the players could see their private information. I called it pi because of the pi sign in the film The Net, which transported the user into some kind of virusinfected environment.
Version 3: October 2001
The site moved to this domain and changed its look. I added the frames and a better navigation.
Version 4: March 2004
This is the fourth version of this site, now driven entirely by php and mysql. Since it is meant to be a living site for the players of the Chronicle, they are now able to add their comments and reports into the timeline section.
Version 5: April 2009
The player input I always hoped for never quit took off, and also version 4 was my first php project it was ripe with design flaws. However, I never found the time to do it myself, so I decided to use a premade open source CMS instead. After a few trails and lots of errors, I decided to use Joomla. I try to retain as much of the old functions as possible.
